This Lion jumps off the bow of battleship Vasa.
There are dozends of other woodcraft artifacts around the ship. Most of them show the king in various scenes of his life and most of the other elements represent his power. The Lion is a common symbol for the most powerful and intelligent animal hunter and it can be found on the bow, sides and rear of the Vasa.

Hi Thomas,
Interesting to see the lion so recognizable after hundreds of years under the sea. Good focus, exposure on low light and nice combination of the ship detail and spectators.

Hi Thomas,
as I've already said, this is - so far - one of the most interesting photos of Vasa I've seen. You chose a very good POV: the inclusion of the wall with a statue and "real" people looking at the ship - with part of the ship in the FG. This all together creates a strange impression... but this is the photo that stirs our imagination much more than a simple general view shot at a distance.
