European Greenfinch, a photo from Uppland, Svealand

Photographer's Note

The majority of birds in the area along the Fyris river south of Uppsala are not large birds but rather small ones. Perhaps not as spectacular as the birds of prey or larger birds, but these bird s could still be quite beautiful. This is a female European Greenfinch (Chloris chloris). Th colour of the bird is mainly green, with yellow in the wings and tail. The females and juvenile birds have more brown tones on the back than the males.

The area along the Fyris is a mix of farmland and woodland edges and farmland that are among the environments favoured for breeding by the greenfinch. The bird feeds largely on seeds, but also on buds, insects and berries.

In Sweden, the greenfinch is found from Sk幩e in the south to Sundsvall area and J鄝tland in the north The northern population are moving south in winter migrate south in winter, but even of most of the the population is wintering in Sweden there are also birds of the Swedish poulation that in winter are moving further south in Western Europe.

Nice taken the bird, in fine details on image, Ulf.
Fantastic green/yellow feathers and tail. The bush it stands on also nicely collected.

Du har utvecklats till en f顤n鄝lig djurfotograf, inte minst av f嶓lar (eller s� har du kanske l鄚ge haft detta som specialitet). Det 酺 ett fantastiskt ljus och sk酺pa i den h酺 bilden, och som s� ofta har du f廞t med en enkel men v鄟digt fin bit natur. Det ska bli sp鄚nande att se vilka finkar som f闤jer.

Detta 酺 en helt perfekt f嶓elbild med utomordentlig sk酺pa och f酺g廞ergivning. Dessutom har du f廞t fram en mycket bra bakgrund med bl廞t p� 闣se sidor om det beige f鄟tet. En s嶟an bakgrund f顤h鐱er ju naturligtvis v酺det p� bilden. Kvisten som finken sitter p� 酺 ocks� perfekt placerad och hamnar precis inom bilden. Hon ser ut att ha en massa mat i munnen, men hon har ju ocks� en fin glimt i 鐷at.

verkligen en fin bild p� alla s酹t och vis! Fotografera f嶓lar har jag n酲tan aldrig gjort, mycket p� grund att det 酺 sv緳t att f� bilderna snygga. Ofta 酺 de inne i ett buskage eller s� ligger ljuset fel. H酺 har du verkligen ljuset p� din sida och dessutom en mycket vacker bakgrund som inte 酺 st顤ande. Gratulerar med en fin och trevlig bild!
