Photographer's Note
I have come this way many times and always hoped that one day I could use the effect of these columns in a photo. But the opportunity only arrived recently when I met a lady in red in a perfect position.
This corridor is outside a large complex of buildings on the edge of Gamla stan, Stockholm's Old Town, built after WW2 and inaugurated in 1950 to house a number of government ministries. Nowadays it is mainly used for the administration of the Parliament.
I cropped a fairly large chunk on the right side to improve the composition.
The street outside this corridor is Myntgatan, referring to the Royal Mint (where coins were produced), which was located here up to 1850.
Click at Map: view to see this place. Unfortunately the Google camera wasn't taken inside this corridor.

Hej Gert
Nice repetition of the concrete columns and you were right to wait until a lady in red finally appeared. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Gert,
The pattern of the columns by itself gave an excellent DOF to the scene, but the lady in red made it yet interesting, enliven and added missing colors.
She was walking on her daily-life matters and captured while deep in thoughts.
Have a nice new week,
Ike
*** You mentioned the candle painted, something I thought would be too much writing for the note... thanks.

Hi Gert,
The suite of columns is giving dymamism to the scene. You have captured well the lady in red walking toward you. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Ha! Ha! Gert, so you didn't loiter, just waited for the right moment! This lady in red had to be captured in this setting, where the repeating pillars and the shafts of light create an amazing sense of depth and perspective.
The wait was worth it!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Gert, patience always pays off in the end, and what could be better than a lady wearing red!
She is perfectly placed in the composition.
Now I am curious as to what lies beyond the pillars, I will have a look at the map thanks.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Gert,a photo that could have been taken in Milan, where there are many modern and geometric arcades built in the first part of the last century and are pleasant walks full of shops. The woman in red gave that touch of color that was missing and creates a beautiful composition together with the extremely linear and geometric perspective, super quality! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Well worth the wait! These columns are great for a graphic composition but make no sense with a person walking past them and red clothes are certainly the cherry on the cake. You captured the movement without blurring the picture - we know from the position of the lady's feet that she is walking. Great crop too!
Have a nice evening.

Hi Gert
The pillars make interesting shadows but you are right the lady in red makes the image much more interesting.

Hej Gert,

Dear Gert,
This photo would make look great in BW, but of course the arrival of the lady in red rendered any conversion useless. It is perfect as-is!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Gert,
This is one cracking 'crack columns' shot !!!
They are precision in line ..... I like to see the width f/g as its getting smaller and smaller in width b/g along with the lights and shadows - almost like the columns effect in Karnak Temple :-)
Yes, the 'lady in red' makes the scene even better. A touch of slowing things up.....the columns seem to be stood still for her as if she's counting every steps she passes by .....
Ha!ha!ha! I think you forgot to crop a large chunk on the ceiling above. Well it does makes the columns look higher :-)
Thanks for your adamant wait to get this opportunity. You've shown me, 'Never give up'.

Hi Gert.
Splendid composition with this kind of large corridor, with that large number of columns of straight lines, which gives a beautiful geometric effect to the composition.
The lady puts a great touch of vitality to the image. Excellent POV, with very good clarity, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
Very good work. I like.
Enjoy a happy Sunday and a good start to the week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

I have a similar photo of a monk in red clothing walking through the pillars of a monastery in Burma;)
Nice play with light and shadow and a good choice to go vertical here.

Hello Gert,
So patience is rewarded.
But you may have waited years for this opportunity :)
Maybe you can try the reverse.
Follow the first lady you meet who's dressed in red. Follow her through the city. Maybe she'll pass by a place interesting enough to take a picture ...
Very attractive graphic composition.
Best regards, Paul
