Photographer's Note
This is from a street in Stockholm's Old Town, Gamla stan, where I saw this man outside a shop specialized in literature about railways as well as all kinds of paraphernalia concerning trains.
The shop is called 'Traffic-Nostalgic Publisher'. The cartoon figure by the door, holding two balloons, was probably there because they were having a sale to celebrate eight years in this place. There was a 30 % discount on everything.
I just happened to be coming this way when I saw the colours, the man and the natural frames. I liked it so I took a photo.
Map: view will take you here.

Hi Gert,
You have captured well the concentration of the man looking at the display of the store. The point of view is showing the details of the facade of the store. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Gert, the man is totally absorbed by what he sees through the window, and unaware of a man with a camera!
The red and yellow signage is an immediate eye catcher.
I like the cut-out of the man who is holding the balloons.
Good title.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

gert
looks like they sells small cars too, probably it is one of those shops dealing with not so popular products, but a special niche, adding more usual products to attract more costumers. it is a specie of shop you can find in a big town and rarely in a small one. nice moment showing the curiosity of the man. I probably would check the products and probably wouldn't buy nothing.
take care

Hej Gert,

Hello Gert,
The repeated combination of red and yellow certainly puts this store in the spotlight.
I think these two colours were also better chosen for the balloons.
In any case, the man's attention does not wane because a photographer shows up.
Beautiful street shot.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Gert, there was a similar shop in my village but obviously it survived for a few years, you need to have many fans of this theme to be able to stay open and with the costs that are there nowadays it is impossible. On the other hand, this shop resists and also seems very well stocked, from trains to books, there is plenty of choice and it has captured the nostalgic attention of this man. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Gert, Nice scene, the elder man seems very interested. GoGood place for the railways fans. Interesting detail is this figure with the real balloons. It must be something new, because it is not there in Google Maps photos.
It is somewhere near Under Kastanjen so probably I went nearby.
It was such a nice time. I went alone but I knew that my husband was waiting for me at home. My travels will never be the same.

Hello Gert,
I inwardly smiled when I saw your photograph for I have a brother and brother-in-law who are both enamoured by model trains! I have seen this longing attitude many times, ... and been in the shops, too! I'm not quite sure whether they love to build the tracks, introduce different rolling stock, see examples that are unbelievable bargains or whether it is a memory from the past, or maybe all of these!!
Your photograph perfectly captures that longing mood!
It is a fine, angled composition, with the focal figure well placed and carefully drawing our attention towards the window, so that we too can gaze at the display!
I like how he is trapped between the two red flags, as if it is impossible for him to escape!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hej Gert,
That's my kind of shop for sure. Most of such specialist shops are on the net only these days. Great to see one in Gamla Stan celebrating birthday. The window is quite impressive.

Hej Gert
I like it too. The red and yellow colours contrast well with the cooler blue tones. Good sharpness and excellent catch of the man wistfully surveying the old railway paraphernalia. Tfs!

Hello again,
Are you sure he felt nostalgia? Maybe he is a railway-fan just like my father. When I was a kid, he built me a railway model. I used it once or twice, so in the end it became his toy. Anyway, its a well-spotted nothing special, as you mentioned the frame and the colours are selling it.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Gert
A beautiful view of this sidewalk and the man behind the showcase. A good combination with flags and colored items. Well -made clarity and lighting. He has attracted the man's nostalgic belongings and has revived his memories. Beautiful shot

Hi Gert
We sometimes joke that Swedish is similar to Polish, as you can create words by adding ska to e.g. a Latin or English noun, just like we crate female surnames. ;-) It's nice to see that "Nostalgiska" attracted someone's attention and to see a person just spending a bit of time on something just for pleasure. Not practical, not money earning, not day-to-day duties. You timed the photo well to capture his interest in what he is seeing.
I like the matching yellow and red colours all over the image.
Greetings from the airport awaiting a verdict on a broken-down plane that was supposed to take me home. :-(
