Photographer's Note
From the Grindelwald - Bonera - Alpiglen - Eigergletscher hiking trail:
I feel that the Eiger's North Face is more formidable & massive looking than what I can portray here. I wish there is something here to compare & give a sense of magnitude to the Eiger. This shot was taken from the foot of the Eiger at the widest angle of my lens. The path between Alpiglen and Eigergletscher gets really close to the Eiger's sheer cliffs. If you want a shorter hike (3hr 30min) you can start from Alpiglen to Kleiner Scheidegg via Eigergletscher or the other way round. Worth your while if you are in the area!

Hi Latiff,
Here you are really close to the mountain face and it gives quite a different view than from Kleine Scheidegg. It's massive. Direction of light is optimal showing both shadow and sunshine. I hope I'll also take that trail some day.

Well it definitely looks forbidding in this shot. The colours of the ground and sky contrast well with the rock.

It must be an awesome sight, but it's hard to get a sense of scale here. It's difficult to tell whether the rock face is a few hundred feet tall or thousands. If you had managed to include a person or another recognisable feature such as a tree then it would have been easier to put things into context.
Maybe that wasn't possible, and even without any reference for scale, it's still quite a dramatic image, taken in excellent light.
I like how the rock face is framed between the blue sky above and the brown hillside below.
Cheers,
Ben

Hello Latiff,
Eiger is a famous mountain, very impressive. I like your framing with three colours, foreground, mountain and sky. Bravo.

Voilà un bon casse-tête pour les alpinistes.
Je parie que la face nord est la plus difficile.
Une photo bien cadrée dans des couleurs superbes, j'adore le ciel. Les blancs sont bien rendus.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Hi Latiff,
The detail of the stone face is great .. the starkness of the stone is amplified by the vibrant sky and foreground .. beautiful and powerful.
take care,
John

Hi Latiff. Excellent alpine shot you present here. It sure looks a tough climb and maybe unstable? Wonderful clarity and textures show up well. That blue sky is superb, something i struggle to achieve. TFS. Murray.

Impressive north face of this well respected mountain. The sheer cliffs and the snow traces on the face increase the dramatic danger associated with climbing this side of the mountain. Good image with nice details and good light. Your note is also very interesting. Thanks Latiff.
