The hard part about photography in the Swiss Alps is that you always seem to be shooting into the sun!
The glacier that this staircase leads to is now only barely visible in the summertime as it rapidly recedes back up the mountain.

Hey Tracy,
I agree totally with the critique above mine.
The composition is very nice, so is the sharpness and color, the position the photo was taken from was chosen perfectly.
It`s perhaps a little overexposed in the upper corner, but nevermind that.

You're not kidding about Mordor! Incredible use of the staircase to leadus in and the slightly faded view of the mountain gives a really etherial feel to the scene. Superb and warrants a lot more positive critiques than it's received to date. Regards, Paul.

Hello Tracey! Great photo! As the others have said, the composition is very good, and it does have a Mordor air :-) Despite "shooting into the sun", you have managed light very well. Very good clarity and good light under the conditions you had.
