Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, I posted a photograph of some original, old trams from Beamish Open Air Museum.

Today, I am continuing the theme with this other form of public transport, the omnibus. This was a forerunner of our modern buses. To me, it looks like a mixture between a tractor and a tram!

It's obvious where the children like to be seated; the upper deck must provide a wonderful and very exciting viewpoint.

Everything is made as authentic as possible from the cobbled streets to the old, advertisements on the omnibus.

In the background, the people are crossing a bridge to the railway station.

I hope you have enjoyed this brief dip into Late Victorian/Early Edwardian life in the N.E. of England., Bev :-)
