Ok, I think this is one of those photo's that only I like...On one hand I personally like this but on the other hand and get the feeling no-one else will. I debated putting this on Trekearth....
Anyway its the cockpit of a spitfire, taken at RAF HENDON.

Remarkable - to me it seems a cockpit of a hurricane. But how did you get the clouds so close? This looks like a combined photo , looking at the light. The plane at the ground is tilted backwards, but then the clouds would not seem in order. This is a photoshopped image - right?

It IS a nice picture. The angle is very well chosen. The clouds in the background evoke the craft's glorious past, but the glass that has become traslucent and the rusted bolts betray its fate... It is probably going to decay in the English rain. I like the fact that you gave a slant to the photo that suggest downwards movement. Unfortunately, the jpeg compression wields a very anoying artefact, which is strange because with such a size and in b&w, this shouldn't be the case with a 150kb file...

This is an excelent photo! And I like it a lot!

I think this photo as everything to do with TreakEarth and the knowledge of the world. What would happen if Hurricanes (also believe it is one) didn㦙 fought bravely and outnumbered in the Battle of Britain? So what𠏋 the difference to a castle?...

The composition is great with the plane 𡞫iving� like in real action, and the clouds almost seem the smoke of combats heavy as they are! The fact of a foggy empty cockpit also makes me wonder about all those who rode these great machines, but maybe this is just my Portuguese nostalgia feeling working�

The work on this picture is very good. The only thing you could improve in my opinion is the border between the plane and the clouds, because you can see some noise. Maybe soften it a little. But I𠍿 not a master on post processing so if anyone cares to comment�

Tim, it is by sharing the photos "you like" that others can share the experience.This is an excellent composition and it immediately took me back to school days when we had to memorize Magee's "touching" words from his poem High Flight . There is also a link on that page to the Spitfire.

Hi Tim. I'm almost sure it's an Hurricane. Great cropping and tilting. Try to use a softening brush to clear a bit of the noise on the border between warbird and sky. A small brush with as few effect as possible should do the trick without changing the overall look.

I like it - it's a good angle and composition. I might have gone for a full shot of the aircraft had I been taking the photo, but this one gives me new ideas & new approaches to try out! I also like the B&W here - with the colour of the aircraft against an imposing sky. Good work!
