Photographer's Note

As mentioned before my recent daytrip to Manchester was mainly to visit the Polish Consulate. The consulate is nicely located between the Gay Village and Chinatown. On my way to the city centre I passed near this lovely Chinatown gate. I have seen a similar one in Newcastle as well. They both share the common feature: they are tightly surrounded by ugly buildings so there is no easy way to photograph them. In the end I decided I want to show something exotic from Manchester so here you are.
I have posted before a similar gate from Chinatown Los Angeles here;

Manchester is not a tourist destination but you cannot deny its cosmopolitan culture. I have certainly benefited from its busy airport, probably the second most important airport in the UK.
