Photographer's Note
This is the third photo in a short series of images taken on a walk round Ingleton waterfalls in the Yorkshire dales.
I have seen this type of thing in a few areas where a popular walk is near woodland.
Walkers hammer coins into a dead rotting trunk.
So you see, money can grow on trees, or is it 'Money tree' union :)

Interesting shot, and an interesting custom. Good DOF.
Tree that gives money? How do I get one? :)

It's interesting the guidelines and coments about this shot, because as you say and show in photo the difficult sometimes is for others understand a people with nature fact!
For me and with your guidelines, you transmit this fact in a shot reality, showing us a particular regional and cultural setting with a good capture, composition and perspective.
Different and interesting. Well done and thanks!

At first look, I thought it was about some exotic plant growing in the Dales....
Very sharp with good colours.
And, thanks for the explanatory note,
Robi

It's a pity that this tree has not autumn leaves in the form of 50-pound bank notes! ;)
