Hi Stephen,
The imminent sky and the shadows beneath give a nice picture, the dark foreground together with the hills give a good contrast against the sky.
Greetings,
John.

Great study of light and shape. The gently sloping land makes for some interesting shapes forming and coming apart, and the cloudy sky gives this a dramatic look. The group of trees gives a good focal point. I think this is a very original composition, and I applaud your creativity. Well done!

Wonderfully composed shot Stephen.
The sky looks excellent and the inclusion of the trees on the horizon looks great.

What a beautifully harsh landscape. One that appeals to my minimalist tastes. The lines in this read like a dance. Or like the music. Bold sweeping lines across of the hills. Faster, more staccato notes of the first layer of clouds and heavy ominous bass of the higher clouds. And with a nice cold and dark overall feel. And that stand of trees seems like a lonely herd, a few buffalo lost on this big landscape. Perhaps you could crop out some of the shaded area at bottom, but not all of it. But your title says it well it is light and shade and an excellent play with it giving it this fantastic musical feel. Very deep, powerful and cold yet very elegant and very fluid. Beautiful capture Stephen.
