Photographer's Note
Good Morning Friends,
Here, is the larger Beta version.
This is a photograph of the wonderful trees house in Alnwick Castle Gardens.
It has to be seen to be believed!
The enormous and beautifully crafted tree house is built from sustainably sourced Canadian cedar, Scandinavian redwood and English and Scots pine. It sits high in the treetops in a copse of mature lime trees and looks as if it’s been there forever.
There are walkways in the sky and wobbly rope bridges for bouncing on, all accessible by wheelchair and buggy. On the tree house’s deck there’s the Roost, one of the garden’s education rooms, which shows films and hosts activities at certain times of the year.
At the heart of the treehouse is one of the most beautiful and unique restaurants to be found anywhere in the world. There’s a roaring log fire right in the centre of the room, trees growing through the floor, hand-crafted furniture and screens created from fallen branches. Most importantly, the delicious food is sourced locally.
We were very lucky, when we were there. The weather was unbelievably warm for October and the relatively low sun, was shining right on the tree house.
Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)

Hi Bev!
Good composition including branch tree and road, the human presence gives sense of dimmensions and helps to understand...
Yes, you were lucky having sunlight bathing the house, it makes shine the wooden wllas. Very good colors and textures too...
Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley,
Wonderful capture of this amazing wooden house that is seen in bright light and lovely shadows. I like how the house blends in with nature and makes the trees and surrounding vegetation part of the building itself. Your photo is well-composed and brings out its details very nicely. I'd love to see what the interior looks like ! I like the bit of overhanging branches in the corner. A really pleasing and well framed photograph. Well done.
Have a nice day.

Hello Bev,
The sort of building that Kevin McCloud would approve with a restaurant too boot! The light was ideal to capture the warm tones and beautiful detailing in the timbering. Technical quality par excellence!
Photos from Porto are on their way, only got home yesterday evening.

Bonjour Beverly
J'ai comme l'impression que cette structure a commencé toute petite et que le reste est rallonge et agrandissements ultérieurs. Toute une structure pour une maison dans les arbres.
Amicalement

Really, Beverly, must be seen to be believed.
Tarzan of rural England... but wonderfully built and well shown on photo.
Light was great for this POV, which you managed with good depth and view extended on far left.
Cheers for this beauty. Impressive built hut on the big trees.

Hi Beverley,
Surprising architecture ! And nice shot with a beautiful low light. What is this building used for ? Do some people live there ? Or is it just a touristic attraction ?

Olivier

Beverley
incredible structure using the trees like support. watching it I think how this structure react to a strong wind, because the trees are made to be more flexible than a house.

Hello Beverley,
This certainly is not your ordinary tree house that one would see in the neighbor's back yard. Truly amazing looking structure. It appears to be a series of structures rather than a single development, which in itself is unique. I would guess it is definitely a conversation piece.
I was not sure if I was looking at the back or the front of the tree house. I was looking for some form of entrance as well.
A very interesting photo of an unique building. I buy British photography magazines frequently and I remember seeing Northumberland as a place for photography.
Thanks for posting. Roger

Hello Bev,
A well-composed and nicely-framed capture of this interesting structure. The golden glow brings out the textures of the house and the trees beautifully, and the person in the left corner gives us a sense of the size of the building. It must be a fascinating place, would love to see it one day!
With best wishes,
Izabela

Hello Rosemary,
This is certainly a good photo, but honestly a picture like this is more about the strange structure as such, and the story behind it, than about the qualities of the photo. From the fascinating note this really sounds like a unique place, although I wonder quietly if they couldn't have achieved all this also by building something on the ground. Of course that wouldn't be half as fun. I should add that your photo really makes the most of this place with a good shooting-angle and superb colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Bev
Never seen before...
Really cool, so relaxing and interesting. i guess that's a case of nature taking over architecture. I like the idea of the expanse of trees with the lodge nestling in, looks like a secret hideaway!! Amazing shapes and forms packed with such lovely fresh colours, but presence of that guy is so vital to this appealing compo. Excellent photo work :) Congrats and tx for sharing.
Best regards

Dear Bev
These unusual and fascinating houses look like something straight out of Scandinavia. I love the warm golden light and the beautiful dappled shade that creates such a wonderful atmosphere. The inclusion of the person walking on the left is absolutely essential as it gives us an excellent sense of perspective. What a wonderful, unusual structure! Thanks for sharing it.
Warmest wishes

Hello Milady
Could this stunning rustic character be dedicated to Her Majesty's needs of incognito retreats, once in a while, from her sumptuous apartments?!
Irreproachable depiction of this work prompted by a wistful and skilful mind.
Cheers.

Hello Bev,
thanks for this interesting and informative photo and note. We were there 2/3 years ago and didn't see this. This is one to definitely take our grandsons to see this summer. You have captured a nice warm light and the scale is obvious with the inclusion of the walker on the lane.

Hi Bev
That is a peculiar construction indeed. The photo is well composed; I like all the supporting poles and the pattern they make. The fact that the trees grow through the houses gives the whole scene a surrealistic aspect, as do all the odd angles. Great light! The person on the road gives a way to scale the whole creation.
Cheers Frank

Hello Bev,
this structure is stunning, your comprehensive note complements your picture superbly. I like very much the perspective you chose, bringing us close to the wooden house and allowing enough context for an interesting and balanced composition. The details are excellent and the colours look warm and agreeable in this sweet light. I also like how the space around the house is filled with trunks and foliage making this corner look so cozy. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania
