Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
As you can see, a trip to Northumberland means lots of views of castles. For me, that is great but at the risk of boring everyone, this will be my last for a while!
This is the approach to Alnwick Castle. As I told you before, it is the imaginary Hoggwarts in Harry Potter and also, the place where internal scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed.
I think this view will show you its superb state of repair. It is a home as well as a castle. A tour of the insides reveals the coziness of some of its interiors.
It is a massive castle. In workshops I will show you some views from inside the walls. I cannot show the interior of the castle as photography was banned.
Have a great day, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
Excellent point of view on this magnificent castle with the Union Jack flying high over it. The roadway makes a very good lead-line whilst the visitors coming out provide a sense of scale. Very good lights and colours and excellent sharpness. Annoying you can't take pictures inside, but it is often the case with these type of places, either that or they make an additional charge for using a camera.

Dear Beverley,
This time your castle doesn't seem like a bad teeth. :) It is really big complex as it is visible on the WS. I loved Downtown Abbey a lot, it was a real historic adventure in front of my TV. And Maggie Smith, that woman is a brilliant actor! :)
TFS!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Bev,
Sometimes it's a hard choice to decide what to use for the main upload and what will have to be workshops, but you absolutely made a good choice today. We get a great view towards the entrance to the castle and some people who have finished their sightseeing. At least this part of the castle looks impressive and the road leading up to the gate creates expectations of what is awaiting us inside. The colours are excellent and the photo has a great clarity.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Beverly,
Amicalement

Good afternoon Beverley,
Indeed, lot's of castles that even made me think I already saw this in your gallery. Never mind - even with this in my mind, would not disagree to have another look at a beautiful, master-mason's built and well preserved castle.
The POV taken from let the viewer see the main subject at the upper-middle scale of the image, giving depth by the trail leading to, and perfectly placing objects onto the whole pic. space.
Bravo & my best regards,
Ike

Hello Beverley,
The castle looks indeed very big.But the visitors coming out, aren't stumbling towards the benches. Probably they still feel fit enough and are ready to visit the next castle in Northumberland.
The access road looks really nice with the many spring flowers.
Beautiful pictures in the workshop too.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Beverley,
These photos of such fantastic castles won't bore me easily! Great photo of the entrance, the many small towers of the castle and the flag proudly on top. Good composition too and I like the presence of some of the visitors.

Hello Bev,
Yes, you're right, it is a very big castle! And you have captured it perfectly in this fine trio of photographs. In your main image the pathway leads us perfectly to the magnificent gateway with its flanking towers and the Union flag flying proudly behind it and the brightly dressed people walking toward you add interest as well as a fine sense of scale.
Your two workshops are excellent too, especially the one of my little brother sitting all on his own before a fine internal building. The light, colours and technical quality of all three images are superb too.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Bev,
You did very well, addition the people in foreground this is perfect for the scale.
A pleasant place for take a break on the bench beside the road.
A splendid castle with the English flag above.
Castles have always a little bit a mystery history.
You chose a very nice angle, this gives depth and perspective.
Very well done, TFS.
Kindest regards,
John.

Hello Bev,
England’s castles just like England’s gardens never bores. For some people they maybe look always the same, but there is always a lot to discover. So I will encourage you to continue with this kind of uploads.

Hello Bev,
This looks similar to the entrance of Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Good use of the dual converging lines of the path to add linear perspective. Excellent sharpness and framing. The Union Jack adds place and context. Tfs!

Hi Bev,
it looks really attractive. I suspected so but your photos tell me more exactly what to expect going there. This is actually at the very top of my list of local 1 day trips but since it is expensive to enter I wait for an optimal weather which is probably not gonna happen this weekend :(
Great light here, fantastic colors, this is a weather I would like to have over there. Nice closer view of the castle combined with the previous capture allows us to appreciate better its beauty.
Nice frontal symmetry of the road leading to the main gate.
I suppose the still naked trees add always some dramatic touch and better view through.
Flag is always a nice motif to emphasize the location.
Excellent work!!

Hi Beverley,
The alley is sending my eyes toward the castle which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the castle. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.
