I have shared here already a postcard from Alnwick Castle, one of the treasures of the North East England. In the note there I have mentioned that since the castle was used as a filming location for the Harry Potter movies, you can attend there broomstick training. Since Halloween is approaching I thought I will share a scene from the training.

Hi Mariusz
That is one very cool castle. And toy got an interesting mix of shadow and light on the castle and foreground. In addition to that, the training is a brilliant extra touch. At first I thought the castle is doing this for extra money bit I can imagine the amount of people who would love to do this. I'm not a big fan of the harry Potter series but this photo could not but make you smile.

I have been there years ago and I remember parents holding the brooms while the children were playing, they know that theb can't fly, they tried in vain! But the parents still believe it's possible, look at them!

Hello Mariusz,
Great impression of the broomstick training with all these people listening to the teacher. If you didn't know what was going on, you would probably think they were cleaners getting instructions on how to clean the castle. Which makes me wonder what it looked like when they had to put theory into practice and fly away on their brooms. The background is beautiful, not only because of the castle itself, but also thanks to the lovely, sunny day you had here.

Yes, you mentioned the broomstick training before. But except in your notes, I've honestly never heard of it or read about it.
But if they don't succeed in flying, I guess the floors in this castle must be very neat :)
I find this a very beautiful picture of a great-looking castle.
Strong with the three primary colours: green, the stone colour and blue.

Hi Mariusz,

If you ever want to learn how to fly a broomstick, you shouldn't have been wasting your time taking photographs - you should have been watching and listening to your instructor! :) Did Nadia attend this teaching session? - if so, you'll have to watch out that she doesn't start flying round the house.

Seriously, this is a lovely shot in which we get a perfect view of what I presume is the courtyard (or one of them) of Alnwick Castle, the buildings beautifully displayed in bright sunlight against a clear blue sky. But the group of adults and children, all colourfully dressed, add much foreground interest as well as a fine sense of scale - without them the courtyard would probably have just looked like a very large expanse of grass.

Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and, as always, exquisite details and sharpness.

And, of course, a fine interesting note.

Cześć mariusz, Wolałam jednak poprzednia poczt闚ke z imponującym widokiem zamku. Ale to zdjęcie jest tez zabawne i pewnie nadia byla zachwycona ta lekcją jazdy na miotle. R闚niez w polskioch zamkach, jak w Mosznie czy Czocha zbieraja sie zwolennicy magii. Silne światlo i część zdjęcia z głębokim cieniu.
Ale pogode miałeś wspaniałą, a tak zawsze narzekasz.

Mialem nadzieje ze w warsztacie bedzie ciag dalszy czyli kadry z lotu nad zamkiem ;)
Magia, czary ale tez grupy rekonstrukcyjne sa czesto spotykane w zamkach. Otocznie, historia czajaca sie za kazdym zakamarkiem sprzyjaja temu.
Dobra jakosc, ciekawa prezentacja.

I can't think of any time better to learn all about the pros and cons of a broomstick! I see there are adults as well as children involved in this mystical training! Did you take part with your daughter?

Not only have you been able to interest us with the line-up of students and their garbed teacher but also, the setting is so appropriate! The castle makes a great backcloth!
The light was gorgeous and your photograph has taken every benefit from it.

its a family affair indeed.
its a beautiful Castle, well preserved.

I really do not know why many youngsters are so keen of the "Harry Potter" tales, saw the Elephant-cafe' in Edinburgh where originally written.
Traning for a broomstick witchcraft's... and with a wonderful backdrop of the castle, a nice idea for a photo.
