Berwick Bridge, a photo from Northumberland, England

I have already used up the title 𡦖ostcard from Berwick� but the view in this photo is probably one of the most popular in town. You may already recognize the tower of the town hall, the most distinct building in the town. I mentioned that Berwick has three very different bridges across the river Tweed. You have seen the high level bridge (known as Royal Border Bridge) already, this time you can see the Berwick Bridge also known as the Old Bridge. It was built between 1611 and 1624.

The arches of the bridge are the real eye catchers on this nice picture.

This is a really beautiful, old bridge, which you captured from an excellent angle that shows the arches very nicely. Its warm colours make a great contrast in the reflection with the blue of the water. The town looks lovely too in this bright sunshine.

55.767, -2.01 on the map, this must had been the spot you took this picture, Mariusz, an old cemetery ground near the water with view across.
Wondrrful view upon the town and the old bridge, it seems to endure the water current and erosion for the last 400 years due to bricks barriers at each of its arches.
I now read about about England from 12th centory and later,
"World Without End" by Ken Follett. Bridge building and Cathedrals building with prolonged descrbtions of technical details which is superbly told. Recommend for reading after "The Pillars of the Earth" from same authur which I also had read.

Mariusz, it must be pleasant to walk along the river. That bridge in stone is very very old. It connects two districts of the city. Nice architectural details. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

A very good point of view. You benefitted from the bright sunlight which highlights all the features so well and also gives you some lovely reflections.

Hello Mariusz,
A very beautiful old bridge with many arches that leads us to the town of Berwick.
Here the skyline isn't dominated by one or more church towers but by the tower of the previously presented town hall.
The colours of the bridge and the blue sky are well reflected in the river.
Taken on one of those sunny days in England that you're allowed to go out :)

Hello Mariusz,

This is a beautiful photograph.
Obviously the composition and the bright, fine weather, are the immediate eye-catchers.
The river makes a superb feature, with its reflections, right across the frame.
The terracotta roofs look more Mediterranean than English and add a real warmth to the scene.

Beautiful composition of this charming place, the view is very beautiful with the old bridge reflecting in the water of the river, the red of the roofs makes a good contrast with the blue sky, the church tower stands magnificent.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.
Good management, both in terms of brightness and sharpness.
