Lindisfarne on Holy Island, a photo from Northumberland, England

Photographer's Note

Another perspective view of Lindisfarne Castle to the one I posted earlier. The clouds caught my eye here and I think it's always interesting to see the people milling around.

I think you will agree that it is quite an imposing place sitting up there on it's hill overlooking the bay.

Didn't manipulate this much, just cropped a bit from the bottom and resized. Oh, and I cloned out a few black dots on the clouds which, on closer inspection, turned out to be seagulls!

Hi Vicky,
Excellent composition, love the cloud formations. The people add extra visual interest to the shot.
Lindisfarne is a wonderful place to visit and the castle is indeed an imposing sight.

great colours
awesome perspective gives the viewer a strange feeling of watching an epic movie..
the people moving makes the photo more "alive"

Yes, the clouds are interesting and the shadow draws attention to the castle without obliterating it.

Definitely one of my favorite places in the UK!
And your version of this view is one of the better ones i've seen. I believe largely due to the beautiful sky and the good placement of the castle.

Seagulls can be a nuisance - always leaving drops everywhere!

I like the way the path and the people on it lead the eye to the castle. The cloud patterns are interesting too, especially the one right over the castle, almost like a cloud reflection.

you are not the only one whose eyes are caught by these clouds! If, as you say, there is no postprocessing here, the atmosphere should have been really magic at the momemt you shot. I'll put it in my favourite. Congratulations , Dario.

lovely, magical image. Can't decide wheter it is a landscape or a cloudscape! The little people millimg about make an interesting contrast to the granduer of the scene.

An interesting view of the Castle with the hordes of tourists.
The clouds were certainly worth taking and make a lovely backdrop.
