Photographer's Note

Taken from the car park near the Peoples College this is a slip road that actually leads onto Maid Marion Way - here you can enjoy the slightly Disneyesque 'Robin Hood Experience' and elsewhere in the town Medieval Banquets have been known to happen with some frequency.

Just beyond this scene lies the area of Nottingham Castle - now a large 'house' which is used as a museum and art gallery - there are few remains of the original castle but it is still an imposing looking fortified place.

Nottingham boasts both the oldest pub in Britain - Ye Olde Trippe To Jerusalem' and a city centre in which allegedly you can drink in a different pub, club or bar every night of the week. It's a city with an often dubious reputation but the people are down to earth and enjoy themselves.....the reputation of the more lawless side of things is overblown as these things are in the media but you know how these things stick.

There is a slideshow gallery of images from Nottingham on PBase - I love urban geometries and Nottingham is my favourite local city - perhaps along with Birmingham - for exploring this theme.
