Photographer's Note
Jean and her picture of Burgh Island Sea Tractor inspired me too choose this picture of Charming Nancy. It is an amphibious vehicle used for transport between St Helier and Elizabeth Castle in Jersey. I have seen some amphibious buses that are used for tourist excursions combining street and river cruising just for fun. But on tidal variations up to ten metres, here this kind of vehicle is almost a necessity.

Hello Kari,
It's an amusing vehicle which is eye-catching for several reasons. The original design would call for attention even without reading the note, the bright painting is another interesting feature. And it doesn't happen every day that I see a "bus" equipped with life buoys.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Kari
Fascinating vehicle, both for it's purpose and design. It reminds me of the (not amphibious but also very high) buses in Iceland but those are far less colourful!
Best wishes

Hello Kari, thank you for the mention, and I am pleased that my shot reminded you of this shot of yours.
I can honestly say that I have never seen an amphibious bus before.
This model makes an eye catching picture with the cartoon style artwork on its sides.
And as Gert has commented, interesting to see life belts hanging on the inside! I hope that they are never needed.
I can’t imagine travelling in this vehicle when it is on the water!
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Kari,
A cool shot of this amphibious vehicle driving along the beach at low tide. Its colours are appealing and the town is well included in the background as well.

Hi Kari
We can see the tidal variation on the bg seawall. And they do float when in water. I have been in one in north Queensland. Tfs. Here's one in Surfer's Paradise:

Hi Kari,
I really must visit Channel Islands someday. I think this year they became very popular among British people because for a while we were not allowed to go anywhere.
These islands certainly have a unique flavour.
This lovely bus is so interesting. It would be nice to see it running also on the high tide to compare.
Very well done

Hi Kari
Personally, I wouldn't want to be seen riding in this vehicle haha...looks kinda kid-friendly and goofy - but I think that's the point of it as well. certainly an eye catching truck for the water, and it will draw attention to itself, self advertising. fun. cheers
Craig
