A group of King penguins were alarmed as reindeer crossed this stream. I was also alarmed, as they were only a few meters away and not knowing their behavior. There were about 30 reindeer in the group and they quickly moved to a nice patch of grass farther down the plain to feed.

Reindeer are not native to this part of the world and are a strange sight... Two reindeer herds were introduced to the island by whalers between 1911 and 1925. Numbering about 2000 today, the herds are geographically isolated to certain valleys and separated by glaciers; they remain genetically distinct and disease free.

It is fantastic shot! Reindeers and penguins together! I know about attempts to introduce penguins on Lofotens but info about this experiment is news for me...

I've made a workshop, hope you like it.

Some overexposure on the water - but it seems to add to the dramatic effect rather than spoil the picture! Well captured - I will watch the next penguin parade at Edinburgh Zoo and hope for the arrival of some reindeer!

I like what Nikolay did with his workshop... I just expect that getting the focus right wasn't high on your priorities at the time!
