Photographer's Note
Probably the last paddle of this year. We started off in Haddington on the Scottish River Tyne.
This is the first drop after the start. The river was high so the water was brown with run off from the local field plus peat from the moors.
Hanging from the bridge is a make shift swing which the local kids play on when the weather is warmer.
The river is full of birds, a castle, water mills, remains of once stately houses and an ice house, where in winters past they used to collect the ice from the river and store it for the year.

Hello Alastair,
Impressive shot considering the circumstances. You were very successful to capture the excitement and rapid motion involved in paddling. Composition is very good, esp. the action of water in the foreground. Can't tell for sure but that's a canoe, no? Regards,
Hakan
