Photographer's Note
Taken yesterday during a lovely circular walk of around eight miles with friends following the River Tweed from Peebles. Unfortunately the weather was quite dull most of the time but the autumn colours were lovely.
I just had to take a picture as this couple dressed in bright blue and red passed by - but I only had my little Canon EOS M with me and it's frustratingly slow - it would have been much nicer if I had managed to capture them before they almost disappeared into the distance.
ISO 100, 1/50 sec at f/5, focal length 30mm.

Hello John,
Was this where we went geocaching (much to the chagrin of the others) or was that at Melrose?
It's a fine autumnal scene with the leaves having a striking red colour, creating a rich carpet under the arch of the branch. I like how the triangular arch makes a window, framing the couple in the b/g. How good that one was wearing red making a vibrant focal point and linking with the f/g colours.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi John. The photo speaks alone and transmits a truly unique feeling of peace and tranquility. I would use it as a therapy after a stressful day of work. The magic of autumn with all its colors in a magnificent perspective. Excellent quality, very well done! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi John
nice to see another photo from you John!
and yes, I checked out the Beta version, gotta love that Beta site - its so much better.
and I know you'd prefer to have the people up front or closer to the front, but hey, way back there they provide excellent depth, and you couldn't have lucked out better with their choice of colors.
the dark tree branches on the middle left are key for the photo, those dark branches are like the skinny scary arms of a witch reaching out to grab you in the night haha.
sweet photo John, keep them coming.
cheers
Craig

Hello John,
I think that all photographers are a little dissatisfied, when the picture is not perfect.
John, I find this is very nice the people are on a good distance.
You create a nice scene with depth and perspective.
Also wonderful autumn colours and a carpet of leaves in foreground.
Composition and presentation is lovely.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John from Belgium.

Hello John,
Although perhaps further away than you would have liked the brightly dressed couple still make an excellent focal point. I like very much the point of view and the framing offered by the trees in their golden foliage that make a lovely contrast with those still to turn. Very good technical realisation.

Hello John,
Maybe slow, but sharp. The fine quality is proven by the larger version. The difference is quite stunning. The quality of the composition is obvious in any version. The triangle of red and yellow leaves framing the view of the path is wonderful, and maybe it was actually an advantage that the bright couple had reached almost the end of the path before you managed to take the photo. They look smaller, but the feeling of depth may have increased by their distant position. It is in any case an excellent composition. The light management and the colours make us overlook the relatively dull weather. It is probably also an advantage that the sky is mainly hidden.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
Despite the grey and cloudy day, the autumn trees bring enough colour to the photo. The overhanging tree and the fallen leaves on the path go really well together with the green tones in the background. The couple in the distance add some extra bright red and blue to the composition too.

Hello John,
It's been exactly one year of my youngest daughter and myself visit to Scotland, and same season with the beautiful trees colors.
The picture brings back memories from a great sights we saw. The two figures in red and blue scale wonderfully the scene.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello John, it doesn't matter that the two walkers are so far in the distance, they are still visible, making a good focal point, and well framed by the drooping boughs of the beech trees.
The colours are delightful.
Very good sharpness.
Have a good w/e.
Regards Jean.

Carissimo Giovanni
So good to see you back posting on TE. I have missed you. Although must admit to being a slacka*se too. I hope you've been keeping well and out of trouble.
What wonderful Autumnal colours you capture here and I really am impressed with the sharpness and high quality. The colours really pop on my brand new Dell laptop, and the photo actually looks three dimensional, it's exquisite. Well done. Lots of lurve n hugs

Hi John,
Peebles? I thought first the man in the blue jacket is Len... I think he had a blue jacket...
Great autumnal shot! I didn't go out this autumn with my camera at all. Luckily I was in Italy so I will have something to share but otherwise not much happened on my side photographically recently.
Beautiful autumnal scenery, the colors are amazing so well saturated. The path well frames with the tree.
Very well seen and captured!!
