Photographer's Note
Unlike Salisbury Cathedral, whose wonderful font gives you an accidental glimpse of the nave roof, Norwich have intentionally positioned mirrors to show off their very special ceiling.
This may not be my best image from here, better ones yet may be posted, but I choose this one, and the attached WS, to show you one of the mirrors and the vision contained within.
This view is of the altar placed at the crossing, the high altar can be seen through the arch in the rood screen at the rear of this image. And of course the reflected ceiling.
NB
Norfolk Cathedral is unusual in allowing, or maybe merely tolerating, tripods for the avid photographer. Sadly mine was in the car, as I was only expecting to be able use my compact. Next time !

Hello Martin,
It is unusual to have tripods permitted!
Whilst the decoration does make a fine shot on its own, I think I prefer your original for the mirror introduces us to the whole concept of the church and its finery; it's a bit like looking at a sampler in a Victorian house; the sampler is excellent but creates a better understanding of the whole, when in situ. Sorry, I'm rambling!
The mirror sets the scene and makes a good, upward lead to the altar, it's beauty and serenity.
Fine sharpness to collect all these details.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Also this one works for me. Well composed very clear photo in great light. By the way today many churches allow using tripoid in case you are not disturbing the church ambiance. Well done Martin.

Hello Martin,
It's good to know that this fine cathedral allows the use of tripods - something to remember when next you visit.
But you have made the very most of your trip there with your compact camera - and been able to take a photograph with immense depth of field at f/3.5, something you certainly couldn't do with a full-frame digital SLR.
This is a fine photograph with good composition, excellent lighting (it looks quite bright in there), perfect exposure, lovely colours and your usual exquisite sharpness. The workshop picture is an excellent addition and gives a fine view of the wonderful ceiling.
Lovely!
Kind Regards,
John.
