Photographer's Note
Another shot of my favourite location, St. John's Point, near Killough village, County Down. A typically overcast Irish sky and the dark Mourne Mountains on the horizon lend to the atmosphere of this terrific coastal location.

hi nigel,
i love this place too. the views are incredible whatever the time of day or year. you have balanced the composition well with great emphasis given to the foreground. the mournes always look stunning from this position silhouetted against the sky. you have used the filter well to darken the sky and clouds.
its a great time to be around the mournes with all that snow at the minute. it wont last forever, and mightn't be back in such volumes for years. unfortunately work and life is getting in the way. i was up ott mountain last night and the sunset was fantastic.
how do you find the lee filter system? i use cokin but i'm told lee filters are better with less colour casts. certainly if i use 2 or more filters together there is a definite purple/grey colour coming through.
kind regards,
brian
