Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
After spending some happy days in England's beautiful Lake District, today, I am sharing a scene from the edge of Grasmere.
Grasmere is where you can find William Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. For those not familiar with Wordsworth, he lived in the Lake District and was one of the most popular Lakeland poets.
Grasmere is one of the southern Lakes. Although it was Sunday and the weather was quite mild, there were few people sharing this tranquil place.
To park near Rydal Water and walk the western edge of Grasmere is a walk that I would recommend to those who want beauty but no steep hills. A great way to exercise and still many hosteleries nearby to quench your thirst, afterwards.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Good morning Bev,
Ah, yes, I remember the lines so well:
"I wandered lonely as a photographer,
With ISO set and shutter cock'd,
When all of a sudden I came on this scene
Of a lovely lake with foreground rocks."
Or something like that. Iambic tetrameter too - not bad on the spur of the moment, eh? Perhaps not quite so elegant as "The Daffodils" and certainly nowhere near as elegant as this lovely photograph, Bev.
There's just a little hint of spring in the distant trees and your composition is excellent with the distant hill placed just right as also are the foreground rocks and piece of dead tree. Lovely soft reflections on the calm water, fine true colours and perfect exposure and sharpness.
An interetsing note too.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Beverly,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition. J'aime le choix de garder les rochers à l'avant plan car ils apportent de la profondeur à l'ensemble. J'aime les reflets dans les eaux calmes.
Amicalement

Hi Bev,
This is a very beautiful view. An interesting picture also, with this "monster" coming out of the water. Whatever it is, it is well positioned and adds depth in the capture. Itlooks like all the ice have gone now and there is obviously no wind either. This must have been a very pleasant day!
Kind regards

Good evening Beverly,
Now I can see where you were hidding last few weeks: The lakes dstrict is a rural beautiful landscape to be far from town's tumult.
A fantastic place to take hikes and stroll along, you managed well from the chosen place, there is a mirror on the calm water, and I just imagine how this looks on different times of days and/or seasons.
Thanks for your warm comment, have a nice weekend.

Hello Beverley,
Lovely symmetrical reflections in the placid lake waters with good sharpness and nice graphism added by the dark mossy tree trunk. Good sharpness & well composed using the rule of thirds. Perhaps a slight cw rotation? Tfs!

Ciao Beverley
Ciao e buon fine settimana

Hello Bev.
The warmish colours of this late-winter photo make it look quite like a painting, thanks to the subdued light and your exposure. The composition was thoughtful and the result is good depth along a gentle diagonal leading from the pebbles bottom left through the drowned trunk to the valley distant. Nice reflections. All very Wordsworthian. I visited Grasmere a couple of years ago and took some shots; I should have another look at them.

Andrew

Hello Bev
Gorgeous warm tones, even if this is March! Beautiful compostion: long views always look spectacular to the eye and are often disappointing seen as a photograph, but you've overcome that by the inclusion of the foreground rocks and branches. Thanks for the TV programme tip!
