Photographer's Note
Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester
Another attractive place in Manchester to observe and admire the public is the square around the Piccadilly Gardens Fountain.
Piccadilly Gardens is a green space in Manchester city centre, between Market Street and the edge of the Northern Quarter.
The area was reconfigured in 2002 with a water feature and concrete pavilion by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
An attractive place for some people to show themselves to the public in an unusual performance.
The three photos of today give some examples.

Hello Rob,
The performances seen here are certainly unusual, but perfect for a photo session. The main photo is very well composed with a good balance between the tree, the performers and the line of seated onlookers. Some green at the top and more green below. I suppose the grey wall is part of the Japanese artist's pavilion. It may have to be seen at full size to be fully understood, but it provides a good backdrop for this scene. Interesting WS too. The water ballet may mainly amuse a male audience.
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

Each picture is different but the three photos are with a funny subject and well made, Rob.
The fountain jets picture would be my favorite.

Hello Rob, three entertaining pictures for us as well as the spectators in the shots!
Some of the spectators do not seem too interested in what is going on; an excellent observation of human behaviour.
Did you stay to watch the performance and discover why the tree was hidden?
The ‘Water ballet’ would have been another good main post. I like the water fountains, excellent timing there.
Kind regards, Jean.

seems like a goof place for people watching.
The water ballet deserves a post off its own.

Hallo Rob,

Hi Rob,
You have captured well the action of the comediens. The point of view is showing the details of their costumes. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.

Bonjour, cher Rob,
Voilà des prises de vue édifiantes et intéressantes à découvrir, l'humour un peu fou de certaines habitudes (est-ce lié à une coutume ou tradition ? ; je ne sais).
En tout cas, l'intérêt est manifeste.
Amitiés.

Hello Rob,
You seem to attract theatre and art, even in the centre of a city!
It's a well taken photograph, revealing the close interaction of the main characters but the less than interested attitude of the audience! How amusing to learn that this is a mobile theatre.
My favourite is the Water Ballet, which I suspect is a hen party, losing a little self control. This so close, so sharp, revealing the excitement of the ladies with equally fine details of the water.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hallo Rob, excellent photo report captured in Picadilly gardens, Manchester. The public is seated and captivated by a theatrical performance. The workshops show people playing in the water jets, probably to cool off and a parade. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
