Quay West Reflections

After the TE company enjoyed the Salford Dragon Boat Festival and a delicious lunch, we took a interesting stroll through the MediaCityUK area.

The area of the former Manchester Ship Canal was thoroughly reorganized from 2011 and turned into a large media park with many BBC studios, but also other media groups as well as the theatre and gallery complex The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum.

The three photos show the copper-coloured Quay West building that you reach when you cross the Salford Quays lift bridge (better known as the Salford Quays Millennium footbridge) from the Lowry.
In the reflection you can see one of the lift towers that can lift the pedestrian deck 18 meters, to allow large watercraft to pass.

The Quay West building was designed by architects: The Ratcliff Partnership Ltd.
As far as I'm concerned, a rather clunky design that wouldn't be half as attractive if it didn't have such a spectacularly reflective copper-coloured facade construction.
