Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

First, let me explain my absence for several days ... we have been without Internet! It is like having a limb removed!

Anyway, though we are not yet properly connected BT have sent us a portable hub to help until restorative work can be completed, some time in the middle of next week!

That explained, let me tell you about this quite beautiful, old house. It is not very old, having been built in late Victorian Times but looks amazing.

It was built as a mixed public elementary school for 88 children.

The building is constructed from red brick with stone facings in a mixture of styles including a decorative course of bricks under the eaves. The roof is decorative and would have originally been covered with plain close tiles.

Inside are two original fireplaces, though we were unable to see them as this is now a private house.

Like many small, country schools, it closed in 1949/50 and was later renovated to become a private dwelling.

This was one of the days when the weather was very much on my side!!!

Have a lovely w/e, Bev :-)
