Hello Everyone,

I apologise for my lack of involvement on TE but it should get easier next week!

This is a shot from my garden.
I just loved how three stages of the poppy's life were present in the one shot.
The bud is on an arched stem, like a coy young girl, the poppy petals are opened like a giant flag, waving for attention, and the poppy seed head is open to the sun, waiting for its pepper pot mechanism to dry out, ready to scatter its many seeds.

Isn't nature wonderful!

Hello Bev,
This is just as beautiful as any of the butterflies that Silvio and Luciano show us, but admittedly you had the advantage that the flower didn't constantly move. Your description of the flower's three stages captured in one photo makes this more than just beautiful. The blurred vegetation creates a fine background.

PS Thanks for your latest comments. I have another place where I have been waiting for years for the right moment for a photo. I missed the opportunity by a couple of seconds last week, but I will try again. ;-)

Hello Beverley, in this picture we can see just how fragile and delicate the poppy flower is. You have captured the sheen of its silky petals in the way that the light illuminates it.
Well observed with all three stages of its life apparent.
I like the bokeh.

Hi Bev,great idea, like a quick documentary from Natonal Geographic..ehehe ... all the stages of a poppy's life in a single composition, of course I know it well but it was really interesting to be able to find everything so close and concentrated, and it's also a great macro with brilliant colors! Hello Bev,
Poppies are my favourite 'flowering plant'. I've them in my garden too but this year I don't see any :-(
I think we all have different stages of life too.
For me, this one shot has shown me the Beauty on each 'characteristic' flower - 'Shy' , 'Bold' and 'Fertile'.
The 'Bold' one , is like a Whirling Turkish Dancer and the most striking stage.
It's wonderful to see someone , who is so enthusiast with nature.
I read a saying somewhere, 'If you love nature and care for it, It will give you a surprise'. I'm sure you knew this saying :-)

growing in the countryside and this one
into my garden...but the most important

For sure real life can sometimes get in the way of our leisure activities that must take a back seat sometimes. Perfect use of selective focus and good to capture the flower in 3 stages. 2 of the flowers have flawless sharpness. It's not important that the 3rd isn't pin sharp. Tfs!

I saw some poppies yesterday as well, they're always so charming. The bright red colours jump out very nicely among the green tones and the sharpness is superb.

Hello Beverley,
The petals of the poppy flower are very wide open. The back petals seem to protect the poppy seed head from wind coming along that side.
Presented from a very good angle that allows us to see the different stages in the plant's life.
Very nice with the blurred dark green background.

Hi Bev,
a great idea for the title and the whole upload. I am actually one of those people who does not promote diversity in the garden. But the nature fights back so I even got one poppy growing next to lavender.
Beautiful zoom on the colorful poppy.

it is a very famous wild flower. my mother once put its seeds in our garden and we got some nice flowers, but the bad seeds never got to create new plants. excellent view.
I would like to suggest a video with photos of a famous brazilian photographer and a sacred song created by brazilians in 18th century. I guess you will like.
