Photographer's Note
This path beside the field is part of the John Muir Way which runs round East Lothian, his birthplace.
We had canoed down the River Tyne (the Scottish one) from East Linton to the sea at Tyne Bay. We then paddled back up to the bridge just beside Tynninghame with a short portage back to the car.
On the river you pass a church dating back to the 6th century, a superb old water mill and numerous old bridges, fords etc.
Just as we finished the paddling a kingfisher flew out, went under the bridge and then away.
