Photographer's Note
Titanic Fireworks
I shot this of Harland & Wolff shipyard from 6 miles away! I forgot about the display and was visiting my Gran that night. On my way home I took a route that is elevated looking over greater Belfast to see if I could capture something.
It was their big firework display. I thought this would never work as it was quite windy and at 15sec 400mm you know what I mean. But then I do carry quite a big Tripod :) Out of seventeen images this was the best composed shot and by luck the sharpest..
You can see the full composition in WORKSHOP.
BTW This is where that famous ship the TITANIC was built.

Hallo Stephen!
Great, simply great! One of the best fireworks photos I've seen so far! You managed the described difficulties in a skillful way! Including city and industrial zone here works very well. I like this one very much!
Greetings from autumnal grey Germany!

Hi,
Good technique. It's nice to see the unmistakeable crane outlined as well. Thanks.

This is a really good shot, and actually quite amazing considering the length of expsosure and the wind. I think the wind is responsible for some of the blur of the fireworks, but that is what makes this interesting and different. Excellent work!
