Nature at peace, a photo from Isle of Wight, England

Photographer's Note

The last few weeks have had some beautiful calm mornings with valley mists and sometimes some frost, this has allowed me to capture some extremely tranquil scenes, especially a few miles inland where there are no breezes from the sea.
Blackwater is near Newport (the Isle of Wight capital) but has a totally different feel to it than Newport, it is all countryside side with small streams and hills with valleys and just a wonderful place to be, especially early in the morning with the sun just rising in the Southeast (as it does in November).

What do you people think of this shot? Its well away from my usual style but i felt i just had to add it to my collection!

I used no filters or fancy effects, just a slight S in the curves in photoshop!

Excellent shot, the composition is brilliant and the fact that every object is perfectly focused makes it an outstanding photo. It is just a beautiful shot all around.

A really colourful countryside and there are so much interesting details to see. You definately have chosen the best vantage point which is most effective in portraying this scene. The atmosphere is simply enticing. Brilliant shot!! Best regards.

Excellent landscape shot! Your composition is great using the trees to frame the sheep in the field. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF. The early morning mist creates a mood of tranquility which you have captured nicely.

Hi Jamie.

I've seen a lot of your other shots and your gallery is really impressive. So I know what you mean when you say this is a departure from the norm for you.
I was instantly attracted to it - very seasonal and the photo itself just screams 'Autumn'. I like the layers in this shot; you have a clear foreground, a middle element with the big tree and the animals, and the backdrop with the strong line of dark trees. the only thing I don't personally like is the small tree at the fron right corner. I feel this is a bit intrusive and blocks the view as opposed to complementing it as the bush in the left corner does.
But overall, a very nice photo beautifully taken.

Great timing, the light and natural weather conditions did the job of creative filtering, I really like the depth given by the mist, being extra picky I wish the tree at right wasn't there.

Great shot. Those mist really going well with the picture. The picture feels like came out of poems. Spectacle shot and those sheep are looking stunningly beautiful along with that two big trees on the foreground. Thank you for sharing it.
