Greenwich (en)

Greenwich is a London𠏋 suburb where you can found the Royal park, the maritime museum and of course the famous meridians separing the East hemisphere and the West hemisphere. This line (see workshop) is the reference since XIXth centuries of the time zones (GMT).

This place is classified world heritage by UNESCO.

Hi Guy,
it's a very fine composition you are showing here! I like particularly the contrast between the wide green lawn in the foreground with all these people spread around and the high sky scrapers of the East End in the background ... great shot.

Joli photo de cette ville anglaise que je ne voyais pas comme cela !! Les diff廨ents b漮iments sont bien plac� sym彋riquement et se superpose pour nous montrez les diff廨entes 憝olutions architectural !! Dommage qu'il n'y est pas quelques beaux nuages pour remplir ce ciel !! Mais n'enlevons pas ce beau ciel bleu que nos amis anglais devaient attendre depuis un moment ... ;-)

Finally I saw a scene and beautiful photo for learning meaning of GMT ! Great addition of green field while full with visitors, crossed paths and old/new city textures from top. Perfect clarity in natural colors and sharpness. Congratulations.

Cela va faire une vingtaine d'ann嶪s que j'ai visit�... rapidement, � l'occasion d'un voyage � Londres et je me souviens surtout du Cutty Shark, ce superbe bateau. Tr鋊 belle vu panoramique et l'on voit aussi que ce beau WE ensoleill� a fait sortir les habitants !!! La nettet� de l'image et la belle lumi鋨e sont fort appr嶰iables. Beau coup d'oeil et merci pour la photo compl幦entaire qui compl鋈e bien le sujet, merci Guy.

que imagem interessante. No primeiro plano esse parque onde as pessoas parecem estar se divertindo num ensolarado domingo. Logo depois a arquitetura majestosa e ao fundo os modernos pr嶮ios. Voc� encaixou bem todos esse elementos na fotografia. Belo trabalho!

I really enjoy your high POV and all the people in the lawns. It is also very intesting that you have captured this World heritage with furious construction activities in the background. This is what happens everywhere in the world that the view is ruined by tall buildings. TFS!

voil� un nom qui reste tout a fait indissociable des voyages, des horaires, de la g廩graphien de la cartographie, du temps.... pour un site qui somme toute n'a rien d'extraordinnaire tel que tu nous le montre!!! et pourtant... je suis ravie de voir Greenwich
et le fameux m廨idien que tu montres en WS passerait-il sous cette longue collonade? je suis encore plus 幦ue d'ailleurs par cette ligne que par ce paysage urbain qui n'est pas vraiment en d廧it de sa localisation on ne peut plus british pas vraiment "ma tasse de th�" !

> campagne vs ville
> gens vs ville again !!

Hello Guy.
You take good photos with your 'modest' camera!
This one is very interesting to me because yesterday I said that I would like to stay in London again next year for a week to see the things I never visited when I was living there many years ago. For example, Greenwich! And here it is on your first gallery page! Lots of other good photos too.
It's a superb panorama, with the white building filling the frame and making great contrast with the skyscrapers behind. And the people running around like ants. I like the sight of that long white colonnade. Thanks for the WS, it's the first time I saw a picture of the line. Now I am determined to go to see this famous institution on the banks of the Thames.
