Photographer's Note

My pictures from Cyprus so far should have convinced you that it is a great holiday destination. There are some ancient archaeological sites, byzantine treasures, cities rich in both difficult history and interesting architecture, diverse coastline which includes beautiful sandy beaches with turquoise waters, and last but not least: guaranteed perfect weather.

I have already mentioned that I had a pleasure to stay in a hotel near Nissi Beach, which is clearly one of the best if not THE best beach on Cyprus. Craig has expressed his feelings about beach life saying that he finds it the most boring vacations he could possibly imagine. I believe that one must find balance also in holidays planning. This balance is accordingly shifted if someone travels with a little child who has own ideas about what is interesting and what is not.

As you may already know I am too shy to take pictures of people especially beautiful girls on a beach. Here is one exception: this good looking couple attracted attention of most people around them. Both girl and boy were very good looking. I regret I did not capture them in a more interesting pose but again: I was too shy to take more than one picture of them. Plus I was also afraid the guy may come over and hit me.

Hello Mariusz,
Adam and Eve are very lucky in this paradise: There are no apple trees :)
Their only mistake can be that they cross the dividing line between both parts of the island on an unauthorized place.
The sea has wonderful blue tones and also the sand looks beautiful white.
You composed the picture well with the rocks in opposite corners of the image.
I surely understand that people with children, especially with small children, choose for a holiday at the beach. Children have a lot of fun there.
But it𠏋 not the kind of holiday I prefer. And I can understand Craig that he finds it boring.
Possibly I haven㦙 mentioned this before. I visited Cyprus in the Spring that the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallaj闥ull erupted. It was at the end of the holiday and I couldn㦙 return home.
My travel companion could go home after 2 days but I had to stay 4 days longer in Cyprus. Afterwards, my colleagues said that I have been very lucky: 4 extra holidays!
In reality, every day I had to go to the airport with my luggage to see if there was a flight and if I could leave with that flight. I stayed four days in Larnaca because if the opportunity arose, I had to be quickly at the airport. Larnaca is a town with beaches and with many bars and restaurants on the seafront promenade. Well, I considered those four days as very boring. And I really mean boooooooooooooooring :)

Youngsters love Cyprus beachs, Mariusz - a good escape from citis and colder weather in Europe, and no wonder about this: the turquoie sea is just stunning sight.

I laughed out loud when I read your notes!
I know exactly what you mean about offending people!
I have never felt that I was going to be thumped but I have felt as if I was going to shouted at, on a couple of occasions. I have the greatest respect for Claude (clodo) who has no problems snapping people and never seems to get into trouble!

This guy does look as if he could handle himself! I think one shot was enough, unless, of course, you could persuade him that you freelanced for a movie magazine!!
It's a lovely candid shot and really sharp, considering your hands may have been shaking, a little! Also, as usual, youhave composed the scene well. This is a great advert for Cyprus, with the warm atmosphere and glorious sea!

I am usually not very shy when taking photos of people in the street, which seems to me a generally public domain, but I would hesitate to take photos on a beach, so I admire your courage :-). The relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful soft sand and the turquoise water certainly makes this a perfect propaganda for holidays on Cyprus.

Do you know that photographs of yourself and your wife are not allowed on TE? Oops, I've just read your note! :-)

Seriously, yes, Mariusz, I share your worries about taking photographs of strangers, especially if they are either young girls or, even worse, children. That's why I tend to spend my time taking photographs of hills and mountains or churches and buildings - they are not likely to call the police or come over and hit you.

This is indeed a lovely and romantic scene and I praise you for having had the courage to take this picture. A beautiful setting with its lovely pale sand and clear deep blue sky and a beautiful blue/green and clear sea which just seems to go on forever.

Your composition is superb with the couple perfectly placed in the frame and with other bathers seen in the distance. Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.

Your title is very apt too. I just hope that she's not offering him an apple!

cześć mariusz, Plaza wygląda rzeczywiście na rajską, piasek wydaje sie miekki i czysty, woda przejrzysta, na pewno ciepła i plytka długi czas, idealne miejsce na wyjazd z małym dzieckiem. Wyobrażam sobie, jak Nadia sie cieszyła z tej wielkiej piaskownicy. Fajny tytuł, przyjemny kadr no i kolory fantastyczne. Nie byłam na Cyprze, muszę rozważyc ten pomysł (i mozna dodać troche ż�łtego :). Patrzę na zdjecie i niemal czuję ten piasek pod stopami.

A beautiful beach, a beautiful couple...what's not to like? :-) The color of the water is lovely, and it looks very calm. Maybe this couple was doing some modelling; they look too perfect to be random tourists. Then again, they were modelling - for you - but they didn't know it. ;-)
