Anarak, a photo from Esfahan, East

Photographer's Note

Anarak is a city in and the capital of Anarak District, in Naeen County, Esfahan Province. It is located at the edge of the "kavir Lut" (Lut desert) and about 75 km from the city of Naeen. The city is surrounded by ruins of an old wall and three look out towers (one of them seen in the shot) that were built about 100 years ago to keep the bandits out.
There are little agriculture in this region but there are many mines located close to Anarak. Nakhlalk, a lead mine is the largest active mine close to Anarak.

Anarak's climate is a typical desert climate, little rainfall, hot dry summer days and cool nights. Most of the old homes are adobe and have a courtyard; people move from south to north of the courtyard from winter to summer.

Hello Atousa ,
This is really an interesting picture . The city looks superb , even it is in a very aride landscape . The composition is excellent , withe the dry busk in the FG and the hill in the BG .

very nice the panoramic view of this section of the city of Anarak,with the adobe homes to dominating the place.The life of the habitans must be difficult living in these places surrounding from deserts,but beautiful the result for the visitors,or the viewrs of it.

Hi Atousa,
A very interesting street scene with all these uniformly coloured houses that blend so perfectly and harmonically with the surrounding nature. The street provides a diagonal that leads the eyes to the hill with the tower. A very pleasantly composed picture!

This is a very different shot than the previous post with the green and misty landscape. Here you show the very different landscape and climate of Iran. From the misty mountains and the arid desert with mostly brown, not even a little bit of green, even in the little bush in the foreground. Quality of the photo is wonderful as always. Thanks.

This is an amazing location as if from a thousand and one nights dream, a town is growing out of the ground! Wonderful perspective, a stunning amount of details with fine sharpness, immense depth in wonderful natural earth colors which is well contrasted to blue sky, while the watch tower adds as strong focal. Fine landscape and so unique medieval atmosphere. Congrats

very very interesting indeed. Especially for people like me in Canada where we don't have landscape like this.

another thing i find so interesting is how the buildings are built in the exact same color as the desert...i wonder if its just a choice or is there another architectural reason for it.

the white and blue sky above adds a nice color contrast, love the sujbect
