Phoenix Nest, a photo from Tehran, East

Photographer's Note

This is Simorgh shelter (3900M , 12,795F) at western edge of Damavand(5,671M , 18,606F).

All mountain climbers stay here before they climb the rest.
Simorgh shelter was built at 1992. It has two floor, thick walls, specialized roof to protect the shelter against extreme cold and extreme hot weather in different seasons. The front view of shelter is extremely eye catching. You can see almost all of major peaks of Centeral Alborz Sierras. And before night comes, there is a very very beautiful sunset.

We had a very warm and comfort night there.

Simorgh in english means Phoenix.
From thousand years ago, in our culture, poems and literature, this mountain had been nest of Simorgh (Phoenix). You can find the story of (Simorgh)Phoenix in Shahnameh - an Epopee Poem book by Ferdowsi -, one of the oldest Iranian books.

Damavand mount is the highest mount in Iran.
It is a symbol of Iran and Iranians. Solid in the wind of difficulties, beautiful, kind and friendly, great and glorious, ...
The area is really beautiful and peaceful specially in Springs.

I like the composition on this pic, and the detailed textures of the stones that make the shelter. The red frame of the windows add a fresh contrast and a point of interest to the beautiful rich browns and blues.

A great capture! In particular I like the way you include lot of the sky in your composition, that enhances the feeling we're on the top of the world here... Great clarity in the building and an interesting contrast by the red window frames. Well done!

What a nice clear weather!lovely situation around this nest!where is very beautiful,the details of the house/nest is excellent with an appealing colors specially red in windows,I like it,Nima,
