Royal Jordanian Boeing B787 Dreamliner was about to commence a take-off on runway 08 in Ben-Gurion / TLV airport, as unusually easterly winds prevailed that day.

Houses of Or-Yehuda town on the far backdrop.

This specific plane is 7.5 years on service, with seat configuration of 270, powered by two GE turbo-fan engines.

A good catch of this aircraft parked on the runway. Excellent sharpness and the bg apartment blocks on the horizon hopefully have soundproofing! Tfs!

Hello Ike,
I once flew with this company from Beirut to Amman. I remember we had to make a detour to avoid Israeli air space. That was in 1995, long before the peace agreement between Israel and Jordan. You captured this elegantly designed aircraft with the modern residential area as a nice background.

Hi Ike,
The word royal made me first think that it is intended for the royal family but then the size of the plane indicates that it is simple a word used in the name of the airlines. Unless they have a really large family...
Nice capture with interesting colors of the plane and well caught with the buildings behind.
We can spot the crown indeed.
The fence is less pretty but at least it is an evidence that you were in a safe distance while taking the photo :)

Colour scheme of the Royal Jordanian is very impressive. Good picture although this angle is maybe not the best one. This is also surprising to me, seeing a widebody aircraft so close to it's home base.

Hello Ike,

It is more unusual of you to photograph the planes on the ground but how interesting that we can see the plane against the tall buildings of Tel Aviv. The plane is very sharply captured against the interesting, slightly blurred setting.

Another beautiful aviation photo. I wonder if this flight has multi-legs. Otherwise I do not see why they would use a Dreamliner for the short hop and skip between Tel Aviv and Amman.

Was this a flight from Amman to Tel Aviv?
Not really ecologically responsible given the short distance. But we used to have flights from Antwerp to Amsterdam, about the same distance. I think these no longer exist.
A long time ago I flew with this company from Brussels via Amman to Sanaa. Excellent flight.
Apart from the gold band and name and the little red, the dark colour makes these aircrafts less noticeable.
Not so important. Prices and comfort are more important.
Food and drinks are already not given during that short flight.
The residents of Or-Yehuda see these planes daily from their living room.
Clear and sharp presentation.
