Photographer's Note
A "chaotic" look on the "forest" of masts and boats.
A scene taken in Jaffa old-port.
The white boat on left named "Hila" and the boat in the middle with blue cover called "Natalie".

Bonjour, cher Ike,
Cet entrelacs de mâts perturbe le regard et donne l'impression d'une forêt. Il n'en demeure pas moins que cela donne une forte impression d'activité.
Image fort bien rendue.
Amitiés.

Hi ike,
A very busy shot with the complete mess of poles, masts, wires , boats and what not.
the brown pole right in the middle is a little distracting. I think it doesn't help in enhancing the image.
I think this shot would look more pleasing in monochrome as compared with the version in colours.
Shall try a workshop later in the evening.

Rajeev

Hello Ike,
There is much to be seen amongst this forest of masts. A busy picture but not overly so as the eyes move naturally through the frame from one element to the next.

Hi Ike,
The masts of the boats have a graphical effect. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the boats. The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see busy fishing boats with tall masts anchored to the port. There are many boats with white hull and blue line.
Kind regards,
mikio

Hello Ike,
this is a really bold composition, your tight framing accentuates its complexity as much as it gets and your effective light and contrast management gives it a fascinating graphical aspect. We can feel there's depth inside the frame and I have a strong and funny impression that if I concentrate and look at the picture long enough everything will be untangled and fall into place:) A great effect, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
Ourania

Hello Ike,
You certainly found the ideal POV to show us this sea of masts.
At first sight one may wonder how it will ever be possible to leave the harbor without accidents :)
Well, chaos is a word invented for an order which we don't understand ...
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike,
I think you found a very appropriate title for this fine photo. That reminds of a slide I took years ago in Bodrum, Turkey - I wonder where I put that slide.
Nicely done, TFS.

MT
PS. Yep, I did not notice the kitty as I was taking the photo but methinks she is precious.

hello Ike, I like such marinas full of boats and all these masts creating a forest. How people can find their own boat?? You rarely go to Jaffa, any way, not with a camera. I can't read these letters :(, so nice that you gave the names of the boats.
Have a beautiful day

Hi Ike,
Excellent well compressed view through sailing boat port. It is a bit chaotic, as you said, but it shows the real atmosphere of small place with many boats inside.
To my Indonesia photo, I must add that on the spot, where I was standing when taking that photo, was a big sign "Fishing not allowed". This is an Indonesian way of life.

Hi Ike,
So many photo opportunities abound in a port like this, and I like what you've accomplished in combining the mast's into a "controlled chaos." :) This reminds me very much of Vieux Port in Marseille. I've attempted this composition a number of times, but have never quite had a good enough result, it can definitely be a bit tricky. This compressed look works well to suit everything that's going on here, but not in manner that's obtrusive or messy....in fact, you even have a building "block" in the upper right corner that breaks it up enough to make sense out of the scene. Nicely done! Have a great day ahead.
Friendly regards,
Jason

Hi Ike
Aptly titled with amazing repetition of the yachts and their masts. Good sharpness and effective tight framing. The blue and white color tones go well together. Nice reflections at left. Punchy light contrasts yet no oe in the highlights. Tfs!

This scene could have been taken in any California coast cities! The marinas there looks like a forest of masts of all kind. I do miss sailing on open sea though. Nice capture of this chaos with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.
