Photographer's Note
Another view of the ancient city ruins of Gadara looking towards the Sea of Galilee and the Israeli lakeshore town of Tiberius at left on the opposite shore. The Jordan River flows in from the right behind the spur and exits the lake to the left to continue south to the Dead Sea. This lake is also known as Sea of Tiberius and Kinneret / Kinnereth Lake. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth at 209 m to 215 m below sea level.

The ancient Greek City existed from roughly the 3rd century BC to 747 AD, when it was largely decimated by an earthquake and abandoned.

Hello Chris,
Unless this is just a tiny fragment of what remains of this city, it is less impressive than Jerash or Petra. But the location high above the lake and the distant hills is enchanting, so I guess it was worth a visit. It's a good composition with a fine contrast between the warm brownish tones in the foreground and the blue hues in the distance.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour CHris,
L'étendue de l'endroit crée de la profondeur. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des ruines de la vieille ville grecque. La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Chris, that ancient city overlooks the surrounding sea. It is located in an arid area. Some columns still stand centuries after their construction where as others collapsed due to the earthquake. Blocks of stone are scattered in the historical site. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Bonjour Chris,
Quelle jolie composition. J'ai un faible pour les colonnes car je me dis qu'à l'époque elles devaient soutenir quelque chose. Maintenant elles empêchent le ciel de nous tomber sur la tête.
Amicalement

Hello Chris,
This is like being taught RE because of the names that I remember but the sights were unknown to us!
The setting was excellent!, high above the river.
The tall pillars give us the impression of sentinels, watching out over the vast landscape.
You have positioned the ruins well, giving f/g interest and creating a fine sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
Just on the three countries borders, Jordan, Syria and Israel, this ancient tone ruins looks so close... an yet so far. Town of Tiberius can be seen on the upper far left corner across the lake.
A fine photo with blue contrasting the grey rocks and brown landscape.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Chris, a spectacular scene where we see the ruins of Gadara; what a shame that earthquakes ruined it. We can only imagine what it must have been like.
The lake and the distant hills are a good contrast with the man-made structures in the foreground.
Excellent sharpness.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Chris
another great view here, even if the air is a bit hazy and kinda hard to see through...makes me imagine what the view was like for the locals here so many years ago - must have been prime real estate haha. love these abandoned relics! cheers
