Photographer's Note
These are the remaining six columns of the Temple of Jupiter in Baalbeck(UNESCO World Heritage Site). In its origin this temple was originally composed of 54 external columns, each over 20 meters tall. The suface of the temple measures 88 x 48 meters and stands 13 meters above the surrounding grounds. These pillars are indeed part of the largest temple ever constructed by the Romans. It is unfortunate that time did not allow these ancient ruins to remain in their originally state of grandeur.
