Taken at 4:53 am in the morning, so the lighting is a little flat. On the plus side there are still some sunrise colours in the sky. An incredible start to the day drifting over the eroded volcanic ash formations of Cappadocia. That time of the day is the safest for balloon flights before the sun starts to cause warm air currents to rise and create turbulence. I felt perfectly safe at all times and no drone required!

Cappadocia is famous for its balloons flights, Chris, due to thermal upwinds in this region, and the wonderful landscape sceneries it offers.
Colorful sight of the many balloons up on the air, superbly managed the early hour light despite the clouds aloft.

Hello Chris,
In spite of the swarm of balloons covering the view we can still see some of the strange Cappadocian rocks. The morning light has created nicely soft colours.

Hello Chris,
I've never seen so many balloons together.
It must be fantastic to fly over the amazing Cappadocian landscape.
I made a balloon flight in Vang Vieng, Laos and it was definitely worth it. Of course Turkey is a more expensive country than Laos. But the capacity ranging from 12 to 20 people per balloon is a disadvantage in Cappadocia. Even the deluxe flights (quite expensive) are still made with 12 people. When I count the number of balloons in the picture, I can only conclude that big money is being made in G顤eme.
I suppose you took the picture from in a balloon.

Hello Chris,

Wow! What a wonderful surprise when opening the thumbnail! The volcanic terrain of Cappadocia can be easily seen but the colourful balloons are like a swarm of colourful butterflies! Amazing!

I notice some balloons advertise hotels. Are the balloons commissioned by the hotels?

The light may be a little bit flat but that's compensated by the wonderful hints of sunrise colours in the sky: the pinks all over and the strip of orange above the mountains on the right.
I loved the ballon flight, the colours, the light and the views are truly unforgettable.

I've no problem with the lighting....maybe I'm not an expert but I do see , it's a pretty amazing picture.
Fabulous landscapes and sunrise with the colourful balloons floating in mid-air over the famous volcanic ash formations of Cappadocia. It's simply out of this world.
I would definitely love to do this balloon flight. One minor thing, do they collide with each other? I counted 45 balloons + 1 in this picture and could be more .....I think I've to take your word for it that you felt perfectly safe :-)

Hello Chris, I think that a balloon flight is one of the special features of a holiday in this part of the world.
This is a lovely scene; such a mixture of colours and designs on the balloons, I love it!
A wonderful way to view the landscape.

Hi Chris,
I was very much tempted to take the balloon ride there but it was so expensive. I gave up but then I regreted that decision.
Beautiful sight here with so many colorful balloons over that spectacular landscape.

An amazing view of the balloons over Cappadocia. There weren't any there when I visited in 1998. I wish there had been as it looks a great experience.

What an incredible number of brightly coloured hot air balloons.
I don't remember ever seeing more than three or four in the air at the same time.
An unforgettable event seems to me.

Interersnatn pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepa priroda i baloni u vazduhu, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
lepe boje balona i trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.
Kod mene su velike vrucine u gradu, krecu se sa temperaturom od oko 40 C stepeni.

Zelim vam sve najbolje.

I never flew in a baloon before, I am not sure if I would be so courageous. excellent image showing the many baloons around the the marvelous aspects of this fine landscape.

Hello Chris,
This is a truly magical shot, with all the colorful balloons hovering above the unique landscape. The outcropping of rocks are a stark contrast to the bits of greenery, and I like the pastel colors in the sky, too. Take care!
