Photographer's Note

Today's photo is another oldie. It is from my 1995 visit to Green Mosque of Nicaea. It is a bit granular and has a scratch or two, but it depicts the mosque adequately.

According to Wikipedia:

The Yeşil Mosque is one of the earliest examples of Ottoman architecture. It was constructed by order of the Grand Vizier ドndarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha of Sultan Murad I in Iznik. It was later completed by his son Ali Pasha. The inscription on the mosque gives the date of construction as 1378-1391, and the name of the architect as Haci bin Musa.

PS. As per Eleni Mavrandoni's (elenimavrandoni) request, I uploaded a version without the overhead wires to the workshop.

PS. Eleni Mavrandoni'nin (elenimavrandoni) isteği zerine, at闤yeye yksek hatları kaldırılmış bir srm ykledim.
