Photographer's Note
Going back toward Eminönü (the seashore on the Golden Horn side) through Gülhane Park, I caught a glimpse of the Sublime Porte (Bâb-ı Âli in Ottoman Turkish).
"Sublime Porte, also called Porte, refers to the government of the Ottoman Empire. The name is a French translation of Turkish Bâbıâli (“High Gate,” or “Gate of the Eminent”), which was the official name of the gate giving access to the block of buildings in Istanbul that housed the principal state departments. Early in the history of the Ottoman Empire, the grand viziers became powerful, but only in the 17th century did they acquire the official residence, Bâbıâli, which became the real centre of government. There, too, were the offices of the foreign ministry and the council of state; hence the application of the term to the government as a whole." (From Encyclopedia Britannica.) After the declaration of the Republic, Ankara became the capital and these the buildings became the seat of a provincial governorate.
In spite of the tram posts in the way, this was my favorite of the three shots I took, probably because of the people in the foreground. The workshop contains the results of my experimentation with exposure, the other two shots.

Hi Murat
We both posted from Istanbul today. A colourful scene with good sharpness and apart from the masks, much as I remember it. Good sharpness and tight framing. Pretty sure I took a photo of this. Tfs!

Hello Murat,
We get a closer view of the gate in both WS, but the light caused you some problems in both of them. But as you say, the presence of people in the foreground makes this the most attractive and lively photo anyway. But what's the point of wearing masks when they don't cover the nose?
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Murat,
A very nice impression of daily life here in the foreground with lots of people, mainly in blue. The restaurant in the foreground and the beautiful tower and gate look wonderful and are nicely surrounded by the trees. Very well composed shot.

Hi Murat,
Very nice snapshot. You have a very attractive architecture as a background for the scene while people add some life and interest. The masks are around. Some people wear them other don't and those who were them don't cover the nose so there is no point for them to be wearing them. It is anyway a sign of the hopefully old Covid pandemic era.
The text in Latin alphabet with no special signs makes it hard to guess which European city it could be.
Great reportage,
M
