Photographer's Note
We are looking south from the middle of Sultanahmet Plaza. Of the two obelisks, the closer one is the Obelisk of Theodosius. In Turkish it is called, unimaginatively, Dikilitaş meaning obelisk (literally, erected stone). The further one is the Walled Obelisk or Masonry Obelisk (Turkish: 琀me Dikilitaş). Both of them were erected during the Roman times. The Obelisk of Theodosius was brought over from Egypt in the 4th century AD. The Walled Obelisk is of Roman construct, date unknown.
The building in the background is the Republic Museum of Marmara University.

Hello Murat,
A cool photo with the two obelisks closely together. They are nicely framed by the trees on both sides as well and the sidelight was very appealing as well.

Hello Murat,
Wonderful to see both obelisks side by side.
The many hieroglyphs makes the Egyptian of course the most attractive. Or for me anyway.
Many beautiful green tones in the foliage of the trees.
Best regards, Paul
