Photographer's Note

The village of Zeytinli is under strict protection. It is three kilometres from the island𠏋 center and, as its name indicates, it is located among olive threes (zeytin means olive). Passing through narrow streets on a slight slope one can reach the village square. This square is surrounded by cafes and restaurants which are mostly operated by the local Greeks. Some of the houses in the village have been purchased by people from the major Turkish cities and are being restored.
Here they make a specific dish to the island called 鏠ullama�, which consists of local wines, stinging nettle (Isigan Out), fennel and similar herbs. The dish called 鏠icirya� is made from goats cheese mixed with mint and olive oil and baked in the oven.

A very nicely composed photo and accompanying note from G闥蔒ada. The cobble stone streets and stone built houses testifies to the presence of a great deal of stone on the island. It must have been enjoyable to explore the narrow streets.

Joli village typiquement m嶮iterran嶪n nich� au creux des collines couvertes d'oliveraies ! J'imagine le paysage, ayant pass� du temps dans un village de Cr鋈e me paraissant similaire, ainsi que le genre de vie que tu mentionnes dans ta note.(Mon post 69)
Tout para褾 calme sous le soleil d'ao壻 ; je vois que certains arbres ont d嶴� commenc� � perdre leurs feuilles. J'aime bien cette petite rue pav嶪 sans voitures. Les vieilles maisons qui la bordent lui donne son caract鋨e typique.

I like the contrast of dark and light colors, with the shadows playing an important role. It shows the rustic architecture of the place, which must be very pleasant. I like how the plants dominate the scenario, too. Congratulations!
