Zeytinlik騽, Gok蔒ada

A peaceful village with stone houses, but most were abandoned in the last century. Less than 80 people live in this village now.
Schools have fallen into ruins, after their closures (this is school hell幯ophones of the island and date of the second half of the 20th century).
These are the remnants of the former elementary school that housed the village children.

Hello Valerie!

Nice architecture photo, nice building although in bad condition! Sad to see it in such shape, especially because it shows that there aren't many Greek speaking left there, anymore. Great composition and framing, great light management, beautiful colours and textures!

a beautiful ruin of the old school,
though the village people went away, the stone ruin has been remaining for long time,
anyway, well designed Greek style architecture, its beauty is eternal like ancient Greek culture,

Hello Dear Val廨ie,

The poignant note accompanying your photo puts the entire TE-package into perspective. The architecture is somewhat evocative of some ancient temples � the pediment, columns and the upward projections at the ends of the pediment. The cerulean blue of the sky, echoed in various arches adds good highlight.
