Photographer's Note

Measuring 3,916 metres above sea level Mount Erciyes volcano is the highest mountain in Central Anatolia (and the fifth highest in Turkey).

This image was taken soon after sunrise when the balloon has reached the level of about 1,600 metres above the ground. We were surrounded by some 100 balloons and the biggest challenge was to isolate just a few against the magnificent backdrop.
