Photographer's Note

A view of freshwater lake Egirdir in south west Turkey. Depicted here is the harbour for the local fishing fleet and pleasure craft. If you let the guesthouses and hotel staff know in advance, they can arrange to purchase a kilo of freshwater crayfish for your evening meal, at very reasonable prices. Great with a glass of wine!

Hello Chris,
The tree with its gnarled old trunk makes a lovely frame for the view across the lake. The crayfish sound delicious but would perhaps warrant more than one glass of wine ;-) A nicely illuminated composition with excellent colour contrasts and very good sharpness.

Bonjour Chris,

Tr鋊 beau point de vue sur un tr鋊 beau lac qui semble changer de couleur en allant au loin vers les montagnes. Bel endroit aussi pour faire du sport . J'aime le cadrage offert par l'arbre.

Beautiful scenery well captured. I once went on a fishing trip on this lake with my wife and then very young daugher, with a wonderful old man, a long, long time ago already. Your picture made me wonder if that kind old fisherman is still around.

We stayed on the island that juts out into the lake - magical with freshly caught fish. A good photo with great water colour.

Hello Chris,
A great view of the lake and the hills on the other side. The town in the foreground is well included, just as the tree and the double piers. They add a nice colour contrast as well as depth to the composition.

Chris, the freshwater lake Egirdir appears majestically in the bg. It is encircled by mountains. A rip rap protects the harbour and the crafts moored there. Good pov with a pine tree in the fg, excellent depth.
