Kubbealtı, a photo from Kirklareli, Marmara

Photographer's Note

We noticed one of the streets went through a domed structure. Businesses around it were called Kubbealtı This or Kubbealtı That. Kubbealtı is a compund word meaning "under the dome." We walked down to investigate. The workshop has photos looking to the right and to the left under the dome.

Hello Murat,
The dome across the street provided nice photo opportunities. The streets and parks department (or whatever they're called) helped you further with all these flower pots along the street. I notice (without any Google help) that there is a men's hairdresser in the building to the right. (It always pleases me to understand a sign or two.) You had to do a lot of processing for that dramatic sky and strong colors. You didn't spend that much time on the WS, which look more plain and perhaps more natural.

You have used the features in this street to good effect, so that they interest viewers by their content and create an excellent sense of perspective as they diminish.

A remarkable composition with that great arch through which the street passes, the dome surprised me and I never thought it could correspond to a mosque, a curious set.

Hi Murat,
Together with the workshop we have a view into three directions. I understand that this area is an extension of the mosque hence the old style dome. It looks quite elegant. The street has been clearly turned into a pedestrian zone with the flower pots in the centre clearly indicating the cars shouldn't pass.
