My favorite tones of the blues...
A view of the Bosphorus from Kuzguncuk. Ciragan Palace can (hardly) be seen beyond the lights of the boats passing by.
One of the most satisfying subjects for me to shoot after dark is a busy road (sea or land). I used the bulb setting and a long exposure to record passing boats so that they appear to vanish, leaving behind the yellow, red and blue streaks of their lights. The longer the exposure and the more traffic there is, the more streaks you will get. If you wait until just after sunset to begin shooting, the sky gets a deep blue color rather then black.
In this shot I love the colors, but the background has some problems.

Beautiful. The almost monocromatic effect works very well here - set off nicely by the hint of magenta cloud. Good stuff.
