Photographer's Note
I took this picture during my flight from Istanbul to Ukraine. And here is a little bit information about this wonderful city:
Istanbul is bounded on the north and the south by two seas, the Black Sea
and the Sea of Marmara, respectively. The western half of the city lies in
Europe while the eastern half is situated in Asia; in between the two halves flows
the Bosphorus Strait. Istanbul, representing the Asian city nearest Europe
and the European city closest to Asia, is a leading port whose importance is stressed
by the age-old trade routes passing through the Bosphorus.

Excellent photo from a moving airplane, which usually is pretty difficult to take. I can understand the haze in the far background.
Well done Karina!

Hi Karina,
to take a really good shot from the height isn't easy... but your shot of Istanbul is very interesting. I like especially navy-blue tone of the water. I only would crop the upper part of the picture. Good work.
Best regards,
Andrzej

Excellent clarity for an airplane shot - it's almost impossible to do this sort of thing! Very informative, too. The boats are an added nice touch.

Hello Karina,
I'm a big fan of those shots taken from the airplanes. They always do nice souvenirs, espcially when the city has a recognizable shape like Istanbul, Venice or Hong Kong for example. You almost manage to avoid all the reflections form the window.. I like seeing all the boats in the sea and the white trails behind.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Karina,
It's a beautiful picture-clear and sharp. There is only a little reflection on the window. It is almost invisible. Well done!

Hi Karina,
You did a fantastic job. Despite the layered window of the plane, you got a sharp and clear view of beautiful Istanbul.
I also very much like to shot this kind of bird's eye view photos. However, the flights I have had taken so far have never used this route. So I could not find chance to see this fascinating view.
Wonderful job !

Hi Karina,
A nice contrasty image with fine warm colors and nice curved effect. Good details on Istambul too!
I made a theme of my airplane photos, so I like them!

Hi Karina, and be welcomed here on TE as i'm just discovering your gallery. I'm a lover of shot taken from high POV, and here this is almost googleEarth picture ! Excellent, tht permits us to see how huge is this city and how it has been developped all around the bosphore.
Great one

hello, karina
sorry, this pic somehow has slipped by me previously. imnahoo: a great view on the meating place between the east and the west... the dardenelles and the ancient city. imagine, just imagine how many powers have been fighting for this spot in the history; armies shifting back and forth; greeks, persian, thracians, macedonians, romans, venetians, bulgars, huns, the turks... even the Rus made it down here a time or two before being swarmed by the mongols.
a great alternative view on this hotspot. i like it.
cheers,
kristaps

Fascinating, it's the only word that comes to my mind seeing this aerial view. and I wonder, why in all my travels concerning a plane, I never have had such a clear vision like this?. Karina, how I envy you!
Have a nice WE
